Electronic Resources

WMU-Cooley Law School offers many electronic resources and databases to faculty, staff, students, alumni, and attorneys. There are some resources that you may not access. If you have any questions, or are seeking information contained within a source you cannot access, please contact 1-866-REF-DESK for assistance.

  • On campus, using WMU-Cooley PCs or network (including wireless), many of these databases do not require you to enter your name and student number or access code as they are IP-recognized for immedia te log in.
  • Off campus, to access the following databases, you are required to enter your full name and your student number or for faculty and staff, your access code.

    Full-text, searchable access to primary and secondary authority (including BNA titles) from all Federal and 50-State jurisdictions, as well as many of the corporate, financial, and practice resources long associated with Bloomberg.

    BNA Premier

    BNA Premier allows users to search the full-text of BNA publications, including current awareness materials, in an array of legal areas, including Securities, Corporate Law, Employment/Labor, Environment, Criminal Law, Ethics, and Taxation. BNA materials are highly valued for their analysis and timeliness by practitioners and scholar.

    The CCH IntelliConnect provides access to Tax & Accounting and Intellectual Property libraries.

    EBSCO eBook Collection

    Access to many titles both legal and non legal.

    Fastcase is a full-text legal research database that contains Federal and State primary sources as well as forms, newspapers, and court filings.

    Free electronic access to government information databases.

    Provides full-text access to more than 2,200 law and law related law reviews and journals.

    Access ICLE's online law library of over 50 Michigan specific treatises and guides.

    Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (IFLP)

    Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals (IFLP) is a multilingual subject index to articles and book reviews published in over 500 journals and law reviews worldwide. IFLP is a prominent source for identifying articles and book reviews on public international law, foreign and comparative law, and the laws of all foreign jurisdictions.

    Index to Legal Periodicals (ILP)

    Lexis Nexis Digital Library provides access to authorative legal eBook content to browse, checkout, and download on a variety of major mobile devices and desktop platforms.

    LLMC Digital

    Contains an extensive collection of digitized historical legal literature and government documents including Canadian Colonial legal titles and United States Federal Judicial, Administrative and Legislative documents.

    The Making of Modern Law

    This database enables researchers to conduct full text searches of nearly 10 million pages of legal history found in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century legal treatises.

    NCLC Digital Library

    The National Consumers Law Center Digital Library provides access to over 20 legal treatises in the area of consumer law. These treatises include pleadings, primary sources and practice aids.

    PLI Discover Plus

    Full-text, searchable access to primary and secondary authority from all federal and 50-state jurisdictions, and some current awareness sources. Content limited to materials subscribed to by library, and may not include all materials available through standard law school Westlaw product. Users must agree to license before accessing content.
