Business Office Manager

Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School seeks a Business Office Manager at its Lansing, Michigan campus. The position reports to the Controller/Assistant V.P. for Finance. Duties include but are not limited to managing the daily operations of the Business Office including supervising staff, accounting/general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable; processing payroll; overseeing student accounts and collection; and, fixed assets. Additional responsibilities include assisting with financial and other audits, internal and external financial reporting, and accounting
system administration.

Successful candidates will possess all or many of the following qualifications and/or skills: a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of three years of related experience is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required), Google Suite, and accounting software (Great Plains, Jenzabar); knowledge of audit process and testing protocol, and basic tax and payroll accounting; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; excellent organization and time-management skills; ability to handle and maintain confidential information; ability to work independently or with a team; and, ability to interact positively with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
