WMU-Cooley student Jonathan Brignall was honored with the State Bar of Michigan Taxation Section Student Tax Achievement Award on May 23. In addition to the Student Achievement Award, Brignall was awarded first prize and $1,000 for the section’s writing contest.

WMU-Cooley Associate Dean to Represent Supreme Court Justice on Commission

On Tuesday, May 14, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer appointed WMU-Cooley Law School Associate Dean Tracey Brame to the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission. As a member of the commission, Brame will represent the chief justice of the Michigan Supreme Court for a term expiring April 1, 2023.

3 WMU-Cooley Graduates Honored by Grand Rapids Bar Association

Each year, the Grand Rapids Bar Association (GRBA) presents the 3 in 10 Award to three attorneys in their first 10 years of practice who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, exceptional public service and significant contributions to the legal profession. Honored on May 16, this year’s three award winners, Christine Cameron, Kellen Dotson, and Katie Johnson, are each graduates of WMU-Cooley Law School.
