WMU-Cooley Students Decorate Bags for Kids Food Basket

WMU-Cooley Law School’s Black Law Students Association participated in service activities at its Grand Rapids campus on Monday, Jan. 21, in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the law school’s Equal Access to Justice Day.

The student group decorated bags for children who receive sack dinners from Kids Food Basket, a community organization offering a solution to childhood hunger.

WMU-Cooley suspends classes on its Equal Access to Justice Day in observance of MLK Day. Students, faculty and staff devote the day to reflect and attend programs on the role of law and lawyers in protecting the rights of everyone and assuring equal access to justice.
