Judge Nick Nazaretian Administers Honor Code to Incoming Students

New students at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School’s Tampa Bay campus participated in a two-day orientation program on May 3 and 4. During the program, Judge Nick Nazaretian of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Hillsborough County administered the law school’s honor code oath.

Before administering the oath, Nazaretian talked about ethics and professionalism as both a law student and attorney. He encouraged students to listen to those who are teaching them. “Listen to what they say. You don’t have to agree, but listen,” he said.

Nazaretian noted, “We can all be ethical when everyone is watching. Can you be ethical when no one is around?” he asked.  "If you can’t be honest with yourself you can’t be honest with others. Judge yourself best.”
