Karen Poole is the Director of Career and Professional Development at Cooley Law School. She is a dedicated student services professional, and has been supporting students at Cooley since 2010, first as a Coordinator and then an Associate Director. As the director, she leads the career services team to help Cooley students and alumni obtain their dream jobs. She is also the lead instructor for Cooley’s Professional Development Series and teaches the first-year elective “Career Exploration.” Karen has also taught Research and Writing, Advocacy, and Scholarly Writing.  Before joining the law school, Karen was a legal reporter for Michigan Lawyers Weekly and worked in private practice for the Law Office of Catherine Groll, P.C., and Sinas, Dramis, Brake, Boughton, and McIntyre, P.C., specializing in No-Fault law.

Karen is a proud 1990 Cooley Law School graduate. While in law school, Karen was the Law Review Casenote Editor and a Managing Editor, and was a writer for the Michigan Opinion Notes. Prior to law school, Karen her obtained her Bachelor of Science in Social Science from Michigan State University.
