I have expertise in family law (including divorce, custody, parenting-time, child support, spousal support, and paternity) and basic estate planning (wills, durable power of attorney for finances, patient advocate designations, "Lady Bird" deeds, and simple trusts).
I joined the full-time faculty at Cooley in 2009 after serving as an adjunct professor, teaching Probate Court Procedure and Practice, as well as Estate Planning, and as a visiting professor in the Clinical Department teaching the Estate Planning Clinic, as well as Wills, Estates & Trusts.
Before joining the faculty at Cooley, I spent 10 years in private practice at Bernick, Omer, Radner & Ouellette, P.C., in Lansing, Michigan. I focused my practice on estate and long-term care planning, probate, estate and trust administration and family law. I also served as Of Counsel with Worman, Dixon & Manis, P.L.C., in Lansing, Michigan, and as an attorney with Berrien County (Michigan) Legal Services.
I have presented in such areas as Medicaid and Estate Planning. I have taught at the Estate Planning Clinic in Auburn Hills and Wills, Estates & Trusts.
