Scholarship by Class Ranking

Class Rank Scholarships

All WMU-Cooley students, both current and transfer, who have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours are eligible for a scholarship from 10 to 50 percent based on their academic achievement. Scholarships will be awarded to the top 25 percent of those students in each of the credit hour completed groupings.

Scholarship by Class Ranking*

(Applies to January 2017 grades and after, regardless of state residency.)

Rank Scholarship
Top 5 percent 50%
Top 6-10 percent 40%
Top 11-15 percent 30%
Top 16-20 percent 20%
Top 21-25 percent 10%

*A student qualifying for both entering and class ranking honors scholarships will be awarded the higher of the two and will retain their highest scholarship amount for the duration of the student's enrollment so long as the student is not subject to sanction under the Honor Code or Disciplinary Procedures.

Each term, after examinations are completed and grades are determined, a class rank list is generated by the Registrar's Office of all students completing that term in academic good standing and who were not subject to sanction under the Honor Code or Disciplinary Procedures. Scholarship awards for enrolled students will be applied in the term following the calculation of class rank determining eligibility (normally two terms from the term of achievement).

The initial Scholarship is continued for the duration of the student's enrollment at the law school only if the student is not subject to sanction under the Honor Code or Disciplinary Procedures, and WMU-Cooley Law School continues the Scholarship Program.
