The Thomas M. Cooley Society

A Culture of Giving

We honor those who value their legal education, trust in its leadership, and believe in its future. The Thomas M. Cooley Society Membership was created to recognize the School's most generous benefactors through their cumulative giving. Membership Roster + Giving Levels

Each year we present The Cooley Society Membership Roster and Giving Levels here. Compassionate individuals united by this honorary distinction share a profound commitment to the school and to the tradition of preparing graduates for the challenges and opportunities associated with the legal profession. Since 1972, our faculty and staff have led the way in teaching, practical scholarly research, and public service. Cooley's academic tradition of excellence continues to teach students that: "Law students must not forget they are fitting themselves to be ministers of justice" - Thomas M. Cooley.

WMU-Cooley students are also taught the Professionalism Principles, adopted by the  Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School community. As a young law school, your financial participation helps to build a tradition of philanthropy. Every gift makes a difference. It is your participation and giving, year after year, that is important. The more WMU-Cooley alumni and friends give, the more prospective students, employers and donors know that those people closest to the law school value their lives, trust its leadership, and believe in its future.
