THOMAS M. COOLEY
  • Thomas McIntyre Cooley served on the Michigan Supreme Court from 1864-1885
  • Was part of the Supreme Court legal dream team known as the "Big Four"
  • Other colleagues were James Campbell, Benjamin Graves, and Isaac Christiancy
  • In March 1887, President Grover Cleveland appointed Cooley as first commissioner of the Interstate Commerce Commision
  • Was the one of the very first faculty members of the University of Michigan Law School when it opened in 1859
