ABA grants acquiescence for full 90-credit JD program in Rochester and Grand Rapids.
The American Bar Association (ABA) granted Cooley Law School's request to establish full, three-year Juris Doctor degree programs at its downtown Grand Rapids and Oakland University, Michigan, locations on July 10, 2006. The move allowed students the opportunity to earn a law degree at any of the school's three Michigan locations. Cooley Law School opened the third and fourth floors of the Cooley Center on January 31, 2006. The $4.5 million final phase of the Cooley Center consists of three major classrooms, a large assortment of smaller classrooms, the career services office, student organization offices and an adjunct faculty office.

The ABA Standing Committee on Professionalism selected Cooley as a national winner of the E. Smyth Gambrell Professionalism Award for "outstanding achievement in the design and implementation of a model professionalism program."
