2002

Don LeDuc became president and Dean of Cooley. Cooley began offering classes in Oakland
County on the campus of Oakland University (OU), where students could take up to 15 credits
towards a Juris Doctor. Cooley renames the Cooley Library in Lansing the Thomas E. Brennan
Law Library after its founder and first President.

Under an arrangement reached by OU and Cooley, the law school students were able to take the same first-term classes as those of their peers in Lansing.

The arrangement increased the accessibility of first-term law classes to a host of persons in southeast Michigan and points north. Oakland University is located in Rochester right off I-75.

Thirty-three students, or 6% of the overall fall term class, were in the Oakland section. John R. Nussbaumer, Associate Dean of the Oakland University Campus, teaches class.
