Alumni present Thomas E. Brennan portrait to Cooley Law School.

« President Brennan as painted by Detroit artist Joseph Maniscalco, whose works include the formal portrait of former Governor George Romney.

Accepting the portrait on the school's behalf was Louis A. Smith, chairman of the board, who said, "the presentation ceremony symbolizes the real accomplishment - the founding of the law school, permanent in nature, proud in its beginnings and demonstrative in its appreciation."

It was presented to the school by the President's Portrait Committee, a group of Cooley Alumni and friends of the school who commissioned the artwork, and now hangs in the school's Brenan Library.

Professors Nora J. Pasman and Maurice E. R. Munroe come to Cooley.

« Robert E. Krinock died suddenly on April 12, 1986, at the age of 45.

Together with Thomas E. Brennan, they conjured up the Cooley standard schedule, the year-round academic calendar and every facet of the school's educational administration.

More importantly, they devised the strategy for garnering Cooley's ABA accreditation, mapping out each phase of approval on chalkboards, legal pads and paper napkins.

Krinock is also credited with recruiting an enviable corps of law professors with a bent towards practical experience: Pete Jason, Larry Morgan and Don LeDuc, the school's current Dean, to name a few.
