2007-08 Tuition + Fees

$907 per credit hour; Full-time tuition: $25,436 (based on ABA criteria for tuition and a $40 SBA Activity Fee)

2007-08 Estimated Educational Expenses

$13,500 (estimated books, room & board, personal, and transportation for two semesters), plus a $40 Student Bar Association fee.

Honors Scholarships

Tuition credit ranging from 25 percent to 100 percent based on entering credentials (LSAT & Index Score) and 15 percent to 55 percent based on academic performance at Cooley Law School. 56% of students receive scholarships.

Law Library

Over 520,000 volumes - places the Brennan Law Library among the largest in the nation; 40 full-time staff including 21 professional librarians; Reference Desk staffed 100 hours per week by professional librarians.

Financial Aid

The majority of Cooley students receive financial assistance from a variety of sources.

Academic Calendar

Year-round; three semesters per year; Hilary (January), Trinity (May), and Michaelmas (September)

Clinical Programs

Sixty Plus, Inc., Elderlaw Clinic, providing free civil legal help to area senior citizens; The Cooley Innocence Project, helping innocent, incarcerated defendants obtain DNA testing; Estate Planning Clinic, allowing night and weekend only students to provide estate planning assistance; The capstone externship program, placing more than 500 students in supervised placements across the United States and select foreign countries in an academic year.

Superb facilities, located in downtown Lansing; downtown Grand Rapids; and our new campus in Auburn Hills.

Student Profile 3,723 students enrolled; 64% from outside Michigan; 28% are members of minority groups; 47% are women; age range is 21 to 68; average LSAT score 147; average undergraduate GPA 2.9; 85% enrolled part-time; 28% are married; 11% have children; 37% are working (full or part-time) while attending law school.
