Cooley Board of Directors Members Re-Elected
The Board of Directors at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School has re-elected The Hon. Brent Danielson, judge in the 85th District Court in Manistee, Mich., to another four-year term as Chairman of the Board.
Judge Danielson was first elected to the Board on May 13, 1989. He graduated from Cooley with the Cooley Class in 1976.
Lawrence Nolan, President of Nolan, Thomsen & Villas, PC, in Eaton Rapids, Mich., has been re-elected as Vice-Chairman for a four-year term.
Mr. Nolan has been on the Board for 25 years; being first elected on January 15, 1983. He graduated from Cooley in 1976.
The board also re-elected Don LeDuc as President and Dean for another four-year term.
In addition to Judge Danielson, the board re-elected Michael Rizik, Senior Shareholder of Rizik & Rizik PC, of Grand Blanc, Mich., and James Vlasic, a Partner with Bodman LLP in Troy, Mich., to four-year terms as Board members.
Mike Rizik was first elected to the Board on May 17, 1997. He graduated from Cooley with the Kavanagh Class in 1981.
James Vlasic was elected to the Board on May 17, 1997. He graduated from Cooley with the Ransom Class in 1978.
In other election news, Cherie Beck was re-elected to her position as Board secretary. Ms. Beck, who graduated with the Flannigan Class in 1999, is Executive Assistant to the President/Assistant Legal Counsel at Cooley.
Kathy Conklin, Vice President for Finance, CFO & Treasurer for Cooley Law School, was re-elected as Board Treasurer. She was first appointed to the position in October 2007.
Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, Cooley Law School is the largest law school in the country. Founded in 1972, it operates J.D. programs across Michigan in downtown Lansing, in Auburn Hills, and in downtown Grand Rapids. Today, Cooley Law School has more than 12,000 graduates across the nation and worldwide and also offers joint degree and Master of Laws programs.
