Nelson Miller Named Associate Dean of Cooley's Grand Rapids Campus

The Thomas M. Cooley Law School announced today that Nelson Miller has been promoted from Assistant Dean to Associate Dean of the Grand Rapids campus.
"Dean Miller has been instrumental in Cooley's integration into the Grand Rapids community," said Don LeDuc, Cooley president and dean. "With his extensive practice background and long record of pro bono contributions, Dean Miller is well-suited to advance Cooley's commitment to knowledge, skills and ethics."
Miller joined the faculty of Cooley in 2004 following 16 years
of private practice experience as a civil litigation attorney and shortly thereafter was named assistant dean. Miller's array of experience includes multi-million-dollar jury trials and cases involving product liability, personal injury, airliner and helicopter crashes. At Cooley, he has taught Torts I and II, Professional Responsibility, No-Fault Insurance Law, Tax-Exempt Organizations and Health Law.
Miller is a published author and recipient of the John W. Cummiskey Award, a recognition by the State Bar of Michigan for his pro bono services. He was also recognized by the State Bar as a Citizen Lawyer in 2005.
Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, Cooley Law School is the largest law school in the country with more than 12,000 graduates worldwide.Cooley has campuses in Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Auburn Hills, Mich. In addition to the Juris Doctor program, students at Cooley can also pursue a Master of Laws degree in Taxation or Intellectual Property.
