Three Re-elected to Cooley Board of Directors
Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Jane E. Markey, Liberty Partners L.P. President G. Michael Stakias, and Cooley President Don LeDuc have all been re-elected to the Cooley Law School Board of Directors June 15 for four-year terms.
Judge Markey has been a member of the Michigan Court of Appeals since 1995. She is a 1981 graduate of Cooley and has been a member of the Cooley board since 1995.
Mr. Stakias is President of Liberty Partners, L.P. in New York, N.Y. He previously was a partner in the firm of Blank, Rome, Comisky & McCauley, in Philadelphia, Penn. He is also an alumnus of the law school, having graduated from Cooley in 1976. Mr. Stakias has been a member of the board since 1988.
President LeDuc has served Cooley as a professor, dean, president, and board member. Under his leadership the school has grown to over 3,000 students and three full-time campuses. He has been a member of the board since 2002.
Founded in 1972, Cooley Law School is now the largest law school in the country. Cooley has three campuses across Michigan, in Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Rochester. In addition to the J.D. program, students at Cooley can also pursue an LL.M. in Tax or in Intellectual Property.
