The Early Bird entry fee (through March 25) for the 5K is $25, and $40 for the Half Marathon. The event attracts more than 3,000 participants, and donates proceeds to Impression 5 Science Center and schools nominated by runners, along with money awarded to the top three schools in the Schools Competition. The races showcase the historic downtown and surrounding areas, including parks, scenic treks along rivers, and portions of the Michigan State University campus. Both start in downtown Lansing near the Lansing Center and Cooley Law School stadium and end in Adado Riverfront Park for a fun and festive finish, including the rhythm and blues music of the Uptown Band.

"Both the Cooley 5K and the Impression 5 Half courses are outstanding – they are absolutely beautiful, with the bonus of being flat and fast," said Terry Carella, Cooley’s communications director and Cooley 5K race director. "Runners will love winding through the downtown and the surrounding Lansing area. This, combined with strong community appeal, has made this one of the top events for the region and beyond."

Children 12 and under are invited to join in the festivities by running in the Sohn Kids' Races on Saturday, Sept. 14. All races start and finish in downtown Lansing.
