Cooley Graduates Rombach and Nolan Sworn In as State Bar of Michigan Leadership
Sept. 26, 2013 – During the 2013 annual meeting of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM), two graduates of Thomas M. Cooley Law School were sworn in as officers for 2013-2014. Thomas C. Rombach, of New Baltimore, Mich., assumed the role of president-elect and Lawrence P. Nolan, of Eaton Rapids, Mich., was sworn in as secretary. Both Rombach and Nolan are in line to assume the role of president, and will be the second and third Cooley Law School graduates to hold the post, following Charles R. Toy, who served as the 75th president from 2009-2010 and is Cooley's associate dean of career and professional development.
Rombach is one year from assuming the role of president and practices general law at The Law Offices of Thomas C. Rombach, in New Baltimore. He belongs to the SBM's Criminal Law Section, General Practice – Solo & Small Firm Section, Litigation Section, Master Lawyers Section, Negligence Law Section, and Public Corporation Law Section.
Nolan, who is in line to assume the role of president in three years, practices law at the firm of Nolan Thomsen & Villas PC, in Eaton Rapids, and serves as chair of Cooley’s board of directors. He graduated from Cooley in 1976 and is active with the SBM, serving on several committees, and is a member of the General Practice – Solo & Small Firm Section, Law Practice Management & Legal Administrators Section and Master Lawyers Section.
Other SBM officers sworn in for 2013-2014 were Brian D. Einhorn, president, Southfield; Lori A. Buiteweg, vice president, Ann Arbor; and Donald G. Rockwell, treasurer, Flint.
