Cooley Recognizes Student Achievements at Award Ceremonies

March 28, 2012 – Cooley Law School recognized the achievement of several students recently at school Honors Convocations held at all four Michigan campuses.

Three students were chosen to receive the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship Award, an honor dedicated each term to outstanding graduating students. Chosen were Alena Vackova and LaToya Palmer, from the Auburn Hills campus, and Evan Balmer, from Cooley's Lansing campus.

In addition, several students were chosen to receive the school's Leadership Achievement Award. This is an honor that acknowledges those students who have consistently, comprehensively, and effectively provided leadership in a variety of capacities. This prestigious award is intended to be the culmination of a student's participation in leadership activities while at Cooley Law School.

Chosen as Leadership Achievement award winners were Autumn Nigro, Joseph Perotti, Juanita Thurman, Alekxia Torres, and Emily Warren, from the Ann Arbor campus; Deon Browning, McKenzie Higgins, Erin Moss, and Kelly Thompson from the Auburn Hills campus; Jennifer Burdette and Allison Johnson from the Grand Rapids campus; and Kayla Byrd, Ashton Clark, Thomas Falkner, Kristopher Howard, Andrew Kraszewski, Sherrill Marshall, and Roy Wilson from the Lansing campus.

In other honors, Victoria Benevidez was presented with the Alumni Memorial Scholarship Award, Christine Welton earned the Adult Learner Award, and Sarah Pixler won the Melissa Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Award.
