The walk began and ended at Cooley Law School Stadium, home of the Lansing Lugnuts. Walkers could do a 1.3-mile or a 2-mile route, passing several Lansing landmarks along the way. Live music, games, crafts and prizes helped round out the day’s events.
Dr. Christopher Lewis, Director of Enrollment Programs and Student Services for Cooley, coordinated efforts at Cooley with a group of students and staff. Lewis indicated the team effort raises awareness, as well as funds.
“It’s important for the entire Cooley community to realize that kidney disease affects so many in and outside of our campus. There are many individuals living with this disease in silence, and being involved in this walk is just one way in which Cooley can show its support. Cooley has a history of making a difference in our local communities and we hope to continue doing this far into the future.”
Cooley Law School is the largest law school in the nation. Founded in 1972, the private, non-profit law school operates J.D. programs across Michigan in Lansing, Auburn Hills, Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor. Today, Cooley Law School has more than 15,000 graduates across the nation and worldwide and also offers joint degree and master of laws programs. Cooley offers enrollment three times a year; in January, May and September. |
