Stone Community Outreach Project Dedicated at Cooley Law School
Students, faculty and community members gathered at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School's Lansing campus in late March for a dedication ceremony held for the Stone Community Outreach Project. Named to acknowledge the late Reverend Lester D. Stone's devotion to the delivery of essential legal services to the elderly in Lansing, the Stone Community Outreach Project was established to identify and provide legal services to the elderly. Pastor Stone endorsed the project, along with a group of local clergy, and from its inception, partnered with Cooley's Sixty Plus, Inc., Elderlaw Clinic to improve the delivery of legal services to the entire community. A stone was dedicated in Pastor Stone's honor and is now proudly housed as a permanent fixture in Cooley's Sixty Plus, Inc., Elderlaw Clinic.
