Cooley Law School Provides New Home for Adams Pratt Collection

On October 4, 2010, representatives gathered at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Auburn Hills for a rededication ceremony to recognize the school as the new home for the Adams Pratt collection of legal texts. The collection dates back to 1909 and was previously housed at the Oakland County Courthouse. From left to right: Bill Bullard, Jr., chairman of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners; L. During his years as an attorney, L. Brooks Patterson, executive of Oakland County, presented cases in front of the Honorable Clark J. Adams and the Honorable Philip Pratt. Patterson reflected on those years during the Adams Pratt rededication ceremony as the collection of legal texts was passed from Oakland County to Cooley Law School. |

To culminate the rededication ceremony, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson passes a historic text from the Adams Pratt collection to Cooley Law School President and Dean Don LeDuc, symbolizing the transfer of the collection to Cooley. The addition of the Adams Pratt collection makes Cooley’s library the largest and most comprehensive legal collection in Oakland County. |
