Innocence Project Celebrates 7th Anniversary of Major Victory

Cooley Law School student Hali Adair throws out the first pitch at the Lansing Lugnuts game on Thursday, June 17 at Cooley Law School Stadium. Adair, a third year law student, is part of the school’s Innocence Project; the Project's mission is to identify, provide legal assistance to, and secure the release of persons who are wrongfully imprisoned for crimes they did not commit. Thursday was the seventh anniversary of the DNA exoneration of Ken Wyniemko. Mr. Wyniemko was the first person exonerated under Michigan's post-conviction DNA testing law, and was represented by members of the Cooley Innocence Project.

Cooley's Innocence Project celebrated the seventh anniversary of Ken Wyniemko's exoneration by hosting an informational event at the Lansing Lugnuts game on June 17. The Innocence Project's mission is to identify, provide legal assistance to, and secure the release of persons who are wrongfully imprisoned for crimes they did not commit.
