Cooley Law School Associate Dean Honored for Innovation
Thomas M. Cooley Law School Associate Dean John Nussbaumer received the "Innovator Award" at the Oakland Mediation Center's 20th anniversary gala, 20 Years of Magic-The Magic of Mediation, on April 9.
The award recognized Nussbaumer's work in developing a partnership between the Oakland Mediation Center (OMC) and Cooley Law School that provides Cooley law students with mediation training.
The partnership program was developed in an effort to give Cooley students practical experience while increasing the number of highly trained mediators who can resolve conflicts in Oakland County without the need for court intervention. Oakland Mediation Center Executive Director Bonnie Hanes presented the award.
