First Floor
The first floor of the Thomas E. Brennan Library is characterized by mahogany paneling and granite countertops and floors which lend an old world presence in an otherwise modern building.

The floor is dominated by the Strosacker Room named for Charles J. Strosacker one of the pioneers of Dow Chemical Co. and founder of the Charles J. Strosacker Foundation of Midland. The Foundation was established in 1957 to assist and benefit political subdivisions of the State of Michigan, and religious, charitable, benevolent, scientific or educational organizations.

The Strosacker Room contains the Michigan collection and West's regional and federal reporters.
