Grand Rapids, Michigan's second largest city, is an exciting and growing community with a thriving business sector and a lively arts and entertainment culture. The Cooley GR campus is located in the Heartside District, which is in the midst of an urban renaissance. Offices, lofts, and condos are being constructed nearby, and restaurants, coffee houses, galleries and artists’ studios, and a thriving night life are within easy walking distance of the Grand Rapids campus. And the Van Andel Arena, which hosts athletic events and concerts, is only two blocks from the law school.
There is a variety of housing options in and around Grand Rapids. Many students take advantage of the growing number of apartments and condos now available in downtown Grand Rapids within walking distance of the Cooley campus, or in the historic Heritage Hill area, which is just east of downtown.
