Establishing Michigan Residency
Michigan Residents
Each entering student seeking this scholarship must sign a sworn affidavit stating that one of the criteria indicated has been met and must provide the applicable supporting documentation.
To be a Michigan resident, one of these four must apply:
1. The student graduated from an accredited Michigan college or university within 12 months of the term of enrollment (must submit official transcripts), or
2. The student graduated from a Michigan high school within six years of the term of enrollment (must submit official high school transcript indicating date of graduation), or
3. The student established residence in Michigan at least one year before the term of enrollment (must submit a copy of a valid Michigan driver's license and signed copies of Michigan and Federal tax forms from the previous two years), or
4. If the student is not a United States citizen, the student must submit a copy of visa information that proves the student resided in Michigan at least one year before the term of enrollment.
