Establishing Florida Residency

Florida Residents

Each eligible entering student seeking this scholarship must sign a sworn affidavit stating that one of the criteria indicated has been met and must provide the applicable supporting documentation.

To be a Florida resident, one of these four must apply:

1. The student graduated from an accredited Florida college or university within 12 months of the term of enrollment (must submit official transcripts), or

2. The student graduated from a Florida high school within six years of the term of enrollment (must submit official high school transcript indicating date of graduation), or

3. The student established residence in Florida at least one year before the term of enrollment [must submit a copy of a valid Florida driver's license or Florida Identification Card and signed copies of Florida (if filed) and Federal tax forms from the previous two years], or

4. If the student is not a United States citizen, the student must submit a copy of visa information that proves the student resided in Florida at least one year before the term of enrollment.
