Financial AidA legal education is an investment in a lifelong career. Legal knowledge and training is one of the most versatile assets for a professional, and the rewards can be numerous. Students willing to make this investment have a law school financial planning partner in the Thomas M. Cooley Law School Financial Aid Office. Approximately 85 percent of all Cooley students receive financial assistance, and the Financial Aid Office provides each student seeking financial assistance with personal customer service. It is the goal of the Financial Aid Office to help students explore all available financial options and put together a financial aid package that meets their individual needs for both school and living expenses. Understanding Financial AidMost entitlement programs funding higher education are designed for students who are working toward the completion of two- and four-year degrees. Assistance for the graduate/professional student is generally limited and of a self-help nature. This means that the student must take the initiative to secure adequate funding to meet educational expenses. The Financial Aid Office at Cooley Law School is here to help, serving the student body as financial aid educators and advisors not just processors. We believe that your academic goals and your financial goals go hand in hand, and we encourage you to plan at least one year in advance. If you would like more information about financing your legal education or want to request application materials, please contact Cooley's Financial Aid Office.
