Before coming to Cooley, Professor Siegel operated a specialized solo practice, doing research, writing, and litigation support for other attorneys, including depositions, mediation, and court appearances. Her areas of experience include employment, sales, and insurance contract litigation, and professional malpractice.
Professor Siegel worked in civil litigation for law firms in Grand Rapids and Spring Lake, Mich. She has also served as an adjunct professor and a visiting professor at Cooley.
She is Editor of The Scrivener, the quarterly newsletter of Scribes, the American Association of Legal Writers. In addition, Professor Siegel serves as Chair of the West Michigan Substance Abuse Advisory Council.
At Cooley, she was on the Honor Roll and the Dean's List, and won American Jurisprudence Awards in Research & Writing, Advocacy, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. She also won the Corpus Juris Secundum Award in Criminal Law, and Book Awards in Constitutional Law II, Scholarly Writing I and II, Administrative Law, and Trial Workshop. She was an assistant editor on the Cooley Law Review, served at the Sixty Plus, Inc., Elderlaw Clinic, and was chosen valedictory speaker by her class.
