Professor Palmer brings 17 years of professional legal experience to Cooley's classrooms.

He specializes in criminal law, real estate, personal injury, and entertainment law. He has tried over 300 cases and handled appeals in the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Professor Palmer remains an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and the State Bar of Michigan. Professor Palmer also serves on the Board of Directors of the Independent Bank of South Michigan and Independent Bank Corporation, a publicly traded (NASDAQ) corporation.

Professor Palmer has written articles on sports law and legal history. He is the co-author of a book on entertainment law and wrote the practice commentary for a book on personal injury damages. He has been published on art law and has is contracted to author a chapter on non-profit and community theatres for a book on law and the American theatre. He has also received the Stanley E. Beattie Teaching Award.

Professor Palmer teaches Business Organizations, Contracts I, Entertainment Law, Evidence, International Art Law, Law Practice, Medicine Forensics and the Law, Products Liability, Property I and II, Remedies, Torts I and II, Unfair Trade Practices, and Wills & Trusts. He has taught Business Organizations in Cooley's Australia Program (2000) and International Art Law for the University of San Diego Law School in Florence, Italy (2002).
