April, 1999: Ohio Judicial College, Judicial Practice seminar, co-presenter of all-day presentation on Assuring Justice in a Pluralistic Society.
October, 1998: Midwest Clinical Law Conference; presented, along with Professors Andrea Seielstad and Kathy Hessler, a session on "Teaching in Different Contexts: Case Management".
May, 1998: 2-hour presentation to Legal Aid Society of Dayton on Web research for legal services lawyers.
May, 1998: AALS national clinical teaching conference; CO-presenter on session entitled "Valuing and Evaluating Lawyer and Student Competence."
December, 1997 through present: as
member of President's taskforce on diversity at UD, helped
organize and lead workshops throughout
campus designed to learn about experiences of diversity at UD. Workshop
participants have included: Faculty Development Day participants, President's
Council, Provost's Council.
October, 1997: UCLA/University of London International Clinical Scholarship Conference, presented paper as member of panel on "Teaching Judgment"; paper title: "Diversity Analysis as a Method for Teaching Problem-Solving."
Fall, 1997: Small group leader, Midwest Clinical Teacher's Conference.
May, 1997: Panel organizer and moderator, AALS National Director's Conference, Topic: evaluating competence of lawyering in clinics.
Fall, 1996: Panel member, Midwest Clinical
Teacher's Conference on the use of video in clinical
courses.
January, 1996: Panel participant, National
AALS Annual Meeting. Topic: War on Poverty, Poverty Law
Section.
Fall, 1995 & Winter, 1996: Participant in a team instructing area elementary and high school teachers about Japanese-American internment during World War II. Along with Professor Randall and sociologist Mace Ishida, developed materials to help teachers present material about the constitution inconjunction with traveling Smithsonian exhibit "A More Perfect Union." Involved six workshops and one panel presentation.
