Monica R. Nuckolls

Before joining the Cooley faculty, Professor Nuckolls served as a commercial litigation associate at the law firm of Clark Hill, PLC in Detroit, Michigan. She also worked as a commercial litigation contract attorney for the Detroit law firm of Pepper Hamilton, LLP.
During her time in private practice, Professor Nuckolls handled various complex commercial litigation matters including product liability, labor and employment, breach of contract, property, environmental, asbestos, and business tort disputes.
Professor Nuckolls is dedicated to expanding law-related education in Michigan. She has co-authored several books aimed toward teaching young people about the law and promoting responsible citizenship. In addition, she helped create an anti-bullying program geared toward teaching young people about the legal, social, and psychological effects of this type of destructive behavior. Professor Nuckolls is a past recipient of the State Bar of Michigan's Champion of Justice Award and the NAACP (Saginaw Branch) Community Service Award.
Professor Nuckolls currently serves as the chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Law Related Education Subcommittee. She is a member of the Oakland County Bar Association’s Law Related Education Committee and is an Oakland County Bar Foundation Fellow. She is also listed in Who's Who in Law Academia.
Professor Nuckolls teaches Torts I, Torts II, and Equity & Remedies at Cooley. She serves as the vice-chair of the Torts department.
