Professor McKneelen joined the full time faculty at Cooley in 2002, having previously served as a staff attorney for the Cooley Law School Clinical Department (2006-2007) and the Cooley Law School Innocence Project (2003-2006). She has also served Cooley as an adjunct professor in Introduction to Law I and II, and for Research & Writing.
Prior to joining Cooley, Professor McKneelen was in private practice, focusing on criminal defense and prisoner litigation.
She serves on the State Bar of Michigan Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence and Practice, the State Bar of Michigan Custodial Interrogation Task Force, and is a member of the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan Committee.
In May 2006, Professor McKneelen received the Justice for All Award from the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan.
Professor McKneelen authored a memorandum handbook for Innocence Project students.
She teaches in the Innocence Project Clinic.
