Professor Marineau is a Partner-International Tax Services at Crowe Chizek & Co., L.L.C., in Grand Rapids, Mich. He was previously the Firmwide Practice Leader-International Tax Services, the Firmwide International Liaison Partner-Horwath International, and a member of the Horwath International Tax Executive Committee.
Professor Marineau has been an international tax specialist since 1994. He has worked in private industry, public accounting and the legal profession. Prior to joining Crowe Chizek, he was the west Michigan international tax services practice leader for a big four public accounting firm. His most recent private industry experience was with a multi-billion dollar manufacturer as Corporate Counsel – International Tax.
Although Professor Marineau’s primary focus is the provision of tax planning and structuring services to U.S.-based multinational companies, which includes the implementation of customized international tax planning strategies to reduce effective tax rates, improve cash flows and optimize foreign tax credits, he also has a wealth of experience representing these companies as they expand their operations and invest in mainland China.
Additionally, he has significant experience compiling transfer pricing studies to document compliance with the U.S. and foreign transfer pricing regimes, as well as overseeing, coordinating and managing expatriate, inpatriate and third-country national assignments.
