Professor Kane comes to Cooley from the litigation department of Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn, in Lansing, Mich. He was a percentage partner in the firm, which he joined in 1991. Before joining the law firm, he served a judicial clerkship with the Hon. Deanell Reece Tacha, Court of Appeals for the 10th Judicial Circuit, in Lawrence, Kan.
At U of M, Professor Kane served as executive editor of the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. He graduated magna cum laude, was a member of the Order of the Coif, and won the Louis Honigman Memorial Award for his Journal work. He also attended Wayne State University Law School, 1987-88, where he earned the Silver Key Scholarship Award and the American Jurisprudence Award in Torts.
Professor Kane teaches Property at Cooley.
