Professor Christopher Hastings was a partner in the law firm of Drew Cooper & Anding in Grand Rapids, Mich., 1993-2006. He was an associate with the firm 1991-1993.
His areas of expertise in the firm included complex class action and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. He had an emphasis in areas of complex commercial litigation, consumer class action, business torts, land finance, commercial and retail lending, RICO litigation, construction litigation, enterprise dissolution, and agency sales disputes.
Professor Hastings has served as a mediator for the Kent County (Michigan) Circuit Court since 1994.
Prior to joining Drew, Cooper & Anding, Professor Hastings was an associate attorney with Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone in Grand Rapids, Mich., 1987-1991.
Professor Hastings began as a Visiting Professor at Cooley in 2006 and joined the full-time faculty at Cooley in 2007. He teaches Civil Procedure.
