Professor Faulkner joined the full-time faculty in 2000, although she has been associated with Cooley for over 11 years. She taught Trial Advocacy at Cooley for several years. She supervises interns with the school's Sixty Plus, Inc., Elderlaw Clinic, as well as students in the school's externship program.

In 1993, Professor Faulkner started her legal career in private practice and served clients covering many diverse legal issues, including estate planning, family law, and property law.

Professor Faulkner has presented on therapeutic jurisprudence, written about elder-friendly law offices, presented to the NASW-Michigan Chapter on legal and ethical issues facing social workers, and presented on estate planning issues to local service organizations such as the Capital Area Interfaith Respite organization and the Foster Grandparent Program. She serves on the Lansing Area AIDS Network Board of Directors.
