As a Cooley student, Professor Dotson received an Honors Scholarship and the American Jurisprudence Book Award for Contracts II and Product Liability.

He was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar and practiced litigation law with the Quarles & Brady Law Firm in Milwaukee. He specialized in product liability and health care, with extensive motion, discovery, and trial experience. He was an Assistant District Attorney with the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

Professor Dotson is chairperson of the Torts and Remedies department and teaches Torts I, Torts II and Criminal Procedure.
