Before joining the Cooley faculty, Professor D'Isa was in private practice as a litigation associate with the law firms of Pretzel & Stouffer in Chicago, and Phelan, Tucker, Boyle & Mullen in Iowa City, Iowa. In law school, she was a member of the Creighton Law Review, and she served as a research assistant to the Nebraska Supreme Court for the Jury Instructions Project. She also clerked for the Douglas County Attorney's office in Omaha, Neb. She is a member of the Iowa, Nebraska, and Michigan state bars, and a Fellowof the State Bar of Michigan Foundation. She serves as a contributing editor to the American Bar Association's Preview of United States Supreme Court Cases. Professor D'Isa received her Master of Science in journalism degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in Evanston, Ill., with an emphasis in magazine publishing and legal reporting. She won first place in a writing competition sponsored by the Iowa Bar. The Iowa Supreme Court cited one of her articles in a landmark insurance law case, and the Michigan Supreme Court cited another one of her articles in a no-fault insurance case. Professor D'Isa teaches Civil Procedure and Jurisdiction. She previously taught Research and Writing, supervised the Scholarly Writing courses, and served as a faculty adviser to the Thomas M.
