Professor Cox served as Cooley Dean from 1988-1996. Prior to that, he was a member of the law faculty at the University of Oklahoma for 14 years. He also served in the Judge Advocate Generals Corps. Dean Cox served in the Vietnam War at the Military Assistance Command and in Europe.
He has written numerous articles in the areas of administrative law, his field of expertise. He recently completed his third research project for the Administrative Conference of the United States, "The Model Adjudication Rules (MARS)," published in the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. His commitment to alternative modes of legal education was evidenced in his article, "Part-time Legal Education: The Kelso Report and More," published in The Journal of Legal Education.
He is a member of the state bars of Kentucky, Michigan, and Oklahoma and has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Pi Mu Epsilon, Omicron Delta Kappa, The Order of the Coif, and the Kentucky Law Journal.
Professor Cox teaches Contracts, Conflict of Laws, and Administrative Law.
