Programs

The Thomas M. Cooley Law School offers three on-campus recruitment opportunities intended to make Cooley law students and graduates available on a year-round basis for interviewing.

• FOCIS - Fall On-Campus Interview Season (August - November)

• STAR - Spring Term Associate Recruitment (January - March)

• YES - Your Employment Success - YES takes place year-round and is designed to bring employers on-campus to meet with licensed Cooley alumni. YES is intended to help you find an attorney who will meet the specific needs of your firm at this very moment. You may request that candidates be found in a certain practice area with a certain amount of practice experience. YES is free-of-charge to your office and takes the pressure off your busy attorneys because we will make contact with all Cooley alumni who meet your specific hiring criteria. We will screen application materials so you review materials that meet your exact needs, and we set up interview times at a place and date convenient to your schedule!

Recruiting Recent Graduates or Seasoned Attorneys

You may list an ad in our job posting bulletin, the Cooley Classifieds, which reaches over 600 alumni each week. Additionally, we can also conduct a targeted alumni recruitment mailing, whereby, we create a targeted mailing from our alumni database for candidates who meet the necessary criteria you select in a potential employee. We send a letter to them informing them of your opportunity and collect application materials from interested candidates. We will screen every application that comes to us from this mailing to ensure that you consider only those candidates who fit your needs. By approaching the candidate search in this manner, we are able to withhold your name and contact information so you never contend with unwanted phone calls and emails.

We can also facilitate on-campus interviews with the candidates you choose to meet at one of Cooley's three Michigan campuses.

Recruiting Current Law Students

We offer both a year-round, on-campus interview program and a student job posting bulletin called the Cooley Classifieds. We are able to conduct a search for Cooley students who are interested in the geographic and practice areas you select and have the academic credentials and extracurricular experiences that you are seeking. In addition to meeting our students on-campus, we can also collect resumes on your behalf and forward them onto your office for interview purposes at your place of business.

Posting a Job to the Cooley Classifieds

The Thomas M. Cooley Law School continually receives and posts opportunities, both inside and outside the law, from employers located throughout the country and the world. Jobs are printed in a bulletin called the Cooley Classifieds. If you have an opening for a student or alumni and are interested in posting it, free of charge, in the Cooley Classifieds, please fill out the form below and mail or fax to the Career and Professional Development Office.
