Before joining WMU-Cooley, Dean Toy was in private practice for 28 years, in large, medium, and small law firms, where he practiced in the areas of church law, environmental and natural resources law, and criminal and commercial litigation.

Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development
Lisa L. Fadler supervises the school's career services offices and works with prospective employers to develop job opportunities for students and alumni.

Karen M. PooleKaren M. Poole
Career and Professional Development Coordinator
Karen M. Poole is a Career and Professional Development Coordinator at the Lansing campus.

In addition to counseling students and alumni regarding their legal careers, she focuses on In-House Counsel opportunities. Prior to coming to WMU-Cooley, Ms. Poole was a legal reporter for Michigan Lawyers Weekly and worked in private practice for the Law Office of Catherine Groll, P.C., and Sinas, Dramis, Brake, Boughton, and McIntyre, P.C., specializing in No-Fault law. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Washtenaw County Bar Association.

Ms. Poole is a 1990 WMU-Cooley Law School graduate, where she was the Law Review Casenote Editor, and she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Social Science from Michigan State University in 1983.

Darla BradfordDarla Bradford
Administrative Assistant
Darla Bradford is an Administrative Assistant for the Career and Professional Development Office at the Lansing campus and runs the Lansing Cooley Volunteer Corps program.

Ms. Bradford received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a secondary study in Marketing, at Michigan State University in 2004. While attending MSU, she was an active member of the co-ed professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. She also counsels grieving children at Ele's Place in Lansing where she is a volunteer facilitator.

Dianne HerbinDianne Herbin
Recruiting Assistant
Dianne Herbin is a Recruitment Assistant in the Career and Professional Development Office at the Lansing campus.

Ms. Herbin provides administrative support for on-campus interviews, special events, and other recruitment services. She also serves as the liaison between the CPD and employers, and gathers all the material submitted by students and alumni searching for employment opportunities.

Grand Rapids Campus

Danielle HallDanielle Hall
Enrollment and Career Services Coordinator
Danielle Hall is an Enrollment and Career Services Coordinator at the Grand Rapids campus.

In addition to counseling students and alumni on career exploration and job search strategies, Ms. Hall specializes in job fairs and public interest opportunities. Before joining the CPD staff, Ms. Hall was an associate at Moritz and Verde, P.C., a family law and criminal defense practice. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Grand Rapids Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan-Western Region where she has served as president and a board member.

Ms. Hall obtained her Juris Doctor in 2001 from WMU-Cooley Law School and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Broadcast and Cinematic Arts from Central Michigan University in 1997. As the 2009 Great Deeds Award - Grand Rapids Campus Recipient, Ms. Hall was recognized for her enthusiasm and commitment to WMU-Cooley and to the communities in which she works and lives.

Auburn Hills Campus

Shari F. Lesnick
Career and Professional Development Coordinator
Shari F. Lesnick is a Career and Professional Development Coordinator at the Auburn Hills campus. In addition to career coaching, Ms. Lesnick specializes in fellowships and law firm opportunities.

Before joining Cooley, Ms. Lesnick had her own entertainment law practice representing national and international clients. She began her legal career in New York as in-house counsel for music impresario Tommy Mottola and served as a corporate counsel for Time Warner, Inc. and as Director of Business Affairs for its subsidiary Atlantic Records, Inc. Ms. Lesnick has published on a variety of topics and has served as a panelist or keynote speaker for various organizations including Michigan's Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Ms. Lesnick is a 1979 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles.

In 1982 she earned a Juris Doctor from Southwestern University Law School where she was on the Law Review. Ms. Lesnick is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Arts, Communication, Entertainment and Sports Section of the Michigan Bar Association.

Alana M. GlassAlana M. Glass
Career and Professional Development Coordinator
Alana M. Glass serves as a Career and Professional Development Coordinator at the Auburn Hills campus. In addition to advising students on career planning and innovative job-search strategies, she specializes in alternative legal careers.

Prior to joining WMU-Cooley, Ms. Glass was a patent analyst at Cardinal Intellectual Property in Evanston, Illinois. She received her Juris Doctor from WMU-Cooley in 2006, and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property in 2006, and an LL.M. in Corporate Law and Finance in 2011. Ms. Glass obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2002 from the University of Minnesota’s College of Agriculture Food and Environmental Science. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, and the Oakland County Bar Association.

Tampa Bay Campus

Alana M. GlassLaura A. Bare
Career and Professional Development Coordinator

Laura Bare is a Coordinator of Career and Professional Development and Externships at the Tampa Bay campus.

In addition to counseling students and alumni on career exploration and job search strategies, Ms. Bare specializes in externships and social media professionalism and networking. Before joining WMU-Cooley, Ms. Bare practiced in the Tampa Bay Area. She is licensed in the State of Florida and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Hillsborough County Bar Association, and Young Lawyers Division.

Ms. Bare obtained her Juris Doctor in 2014 from Florida State University College of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Political Science and International Affairs from Florida State University.
