GR Student Bar Association Hosts Kick-Off Social Event for Fall Term

The GR Student Bar Association welcomed new students and returning students alike on Friday evening, September 8, with a scavenger hunt and mixer. Students met in the lobby of the Law Center on the GR Campus and were assigned to teams with faculty and staff members. Teams fanned out around downtown Grand Rapids using clues to find selected locations where they received a playing card. The team with the highest poker hand at the end of the scavenger hunt was the winner and received gift certificates to area businesses as the prize.

Students then joined faculty, staff, and alumni for food, music, and mingling at the third floor loft of McFadden’s Saloon on Ionia Avenue. First-term students answered legal questions at the get-together to win McFadden's gift certificates.
