GR Campus Recognizes Cooley Student as Outstanding Adult Learner
Cooley student LeeAnn Ford was recognized as the Outstanding Adult Learner for 2006. LeeAnn received a certificate and cash award at a ceremony on April 19 honoring winners from ten colleges and universities in the Grand Rapids area. Winners were selected on the basis of their leadership, community service, academic accomplishments, and workplace achievement. The award ceremony was sponsored by GRAHEN, the Grand Rapids Area Higher Education Network. LeeAnn is in her third year of law school, is ranked in the top 14% of her class, and plans to graduate in May 2007. She worked fulltime as an engineer at Johnson Controls in Holland while attending law school until she resigned in February 2006 to focus on her studies. LeeAnn organizes Habitat for Humanity work days for Cooley students and faculty every semester. She is a founding member and President of the Cooley Grand Rapids Federalist Society and founding member and Vice- President of the Cooley Grand Rapids International Law Society. LeeAnn also serves as a Cooley Ambassador, welcoming and mentoring incoming law students during their first term of law school.
