Cooley Law School administrators and staff greeted guests and players and distributed Cooley gift bags following the 22nd Annual Women Lawyer's Association's Charity Softball game on June 25, 2005. Women lawyers from the GR area took to the field at Fifth Third Park to test their batting skills against local judges, with male attorneys serving as cheerleaders. The game resulted in a tie and was the first time in years that the judges' team failed to score a victory. Spectators enjoyed an all-you-can-eat picnic lunch after the game followed by the a Whitecaps game and fireworks. Cooley co-sponsored the softball game which raised funds for the Grand Rapids YWCA's services benefitting victims of domestic violence.
