Cooley's GR Campus Sponsors Book Drive

On January 17, as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Equal Rights Under the Law Day festivities, Cooley’s GR Campus did its part to help spark children’s love of reading and jumpstart their academic success. Representatives of Cooley’s Grand Rapids SBA presented four boxes of new and gently used children’s books to Susan Heartwell, the Executive Director of the Student Advancement Foundation for the Grand Rapids Public Schools. Cooley students, faculty, and staff donated the books as part of the first annual Equal Access Day Book Drive. The books are designated for the library of Straight Elementary School, a Grand Rapids Public School (pre-K through 1st grade), located close to the law school campus. The Grand Rapids community has been asked to help with donations for school libraries due to limited school funds for book purchases.
