Cooley Sponsors Affirmative Action Debate in Grand Rapids

Over 80 people attended an Affirmative Action Debate sponsored by the presidents of Cooley Law School and eleven other Grand Rapids colleges and universities. The lively panel discussion, hosted by Calvin College on May 24, focused on the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative and featured panelists from both sides of the issue. The Michigan Civil Rights Initiative has proposed amending the state constitution to prohibit state universities and all other state entities from discriminating or granting preferential treatment based on race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin.
