Sherry Batzer
Professor Batzer started a pro-bono mini-clinic at the Ferguson Apartments for mentally challenged adults residents.

Curt Benson
During the month of March 2009, Professor Benson was cited in the Detroit News on perjury charges against a retired judge, prosecutor, and two police officers, and featured on WOOD-TV speaking about drug charges against a Grand Rapids Press columnist.

Tracey Brame
Assistant Dean Brame was elected to the Grand Rapids Bar Association Board of Trustees.

Paul Carrier
On March 5, 2009, students from the Grand Rapids International Law Society joined Professor Carrier for a Rotary luncheon with speaker and former Grand Rapids native Gillian Martin Sorensen, Senior Advisor/National Advocate at the United Nations Foundation.

Brad Charles
Professor Charles had a co-authored article 'Meeting the Carnegie Report's Challenge to Make Legal Analysis Explicit' accepted for publication by the prestigious Journal of Legal Education.

Paul Marineau
Professor Paul Marineau was appointed to the Board of Review in Douglas, Michigan, by the Douglas City Council for a term expiring on Jan. 1, 2010.

John Marks
Professor Marks made a presentation at a premises liability forum sponsored by the Michigan Association for Justice, and wrote a paper on the subject that was included in the MAJ publication for the event.

Nelson Miller
Associate Dean Miller has two articles published in May's edition of the Michigan Bar Journal, one on anticipated changes in tort law, 'Now What? Steadying Tort Law's Pendulum," and one on legal education, 'Preserving Law School's Signature Pedagogy and Great Subjects.' He is also a co-author of 'Meeting the Carnegie Report's Challenge to Make Legal Analysis Explicit' just accepted for publication by the prestigious Journal of Legal Education."

Victoria Vuletich
Professor Vuletich spoke at the State Bar of Michigan's Representative Assembly on April 18, 2009, regarding a proposed court rule that would amend an attorney's ability to solicit prospective clients by mail.

Derek Witte
Professor Witte presented oral argument before the Kansas Court of Appeals on April 7, on the issue of whether an arbitration contract had been validly formed and whether it was enforceable under Kansas and federal law. On April 13, Prof. Witte provided expert commentary to WOOD-TV 8 Evening News regarding the possible effects of a GM bankruptcy. On April 16, Prof. Witte provided expert commentary for WZZM 13 News relating to the news story, “GM Retirees Worry about Possible Bankruptcy,” for Channel 13's print and broadcast editions.
